Chase Garbers had an auspicious start in his UFL career with the San Antonio Brahmas, leading them to a 2-1 start, but an injury seemed to cut his season short. But he came back in the XFL Championship Game and had an outstanding performance to lead San Antonio to victory.
Last up is the UFL Championship against the Birmingham Stallions in St. Louis. Could Garbers join the tradition of great Bears football pros being a crucial part of a title run?
The game kicks off at 2 pm Pacific, 5 PM Eastern, and can be watched on FOX.
He played alright. Was accurate in the passes out to the edges. Had a good deep outside shoulder throw the receiver couldn’t hold onto. But overall the Brahmas could not stretch the field at all. Lack of a run game hindered the offense against a stout Birmingham defense. On offense San Antonio’s play caller kept it very conservative in what was largely a defensive standoff throughout the first half, with Garbers throwing for 100 yards on short stuff and Martinez mostly unable to get untracked. Would have liked to see San Antonio take more chances in the second half.
Garbers sliding short of the first down line on 3rd and 1 down 3 TDs in the 4th quarter may have ended his football career. He’s now benched in the championship and can kiss any NFL practice squad spot goodbye.
A little late in tuning in for this championship game. Don't think I have missed much. One time Cal-commit Adrian Martinez is the other QB going up against Chase Garbers or rather the San Antonio defense.
: The Brahma name is of Hindu origin, coming from the Hindu creator god; more directly, the Brahmas name comes from the American Brahman, a hybrid species cross-bred from sacred zebu and American cattle that Johnson has long used as a personal mascot.
Well, that was a pretty poor showing. A.J. Smith, the OC, sure didn't help the situation much.

Which game is that?
Oh, I just realized the video I saw was a conference championship game.
He did that in the championship game yesterday?
twice :(
I remember him doing this several times at Cal. Never seen any other QB have this problem.

The Brahmas?

um ok, that seems fine
I hope he can make it back to the NFL; he's looked like that's where he should be.
