Cal AD Jim Knowlton is no longer a candidate for Northwestern opening

After a 24 hour frenzy, from the news that Cal AD Jim Knowlton had interviewed for the Northwestern AD opening, it was reported last night that he was no longer a candidate for the position. It was first reported by Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury.

This is a bit of a relief for Cal fans as the Bears will not be needing to search for a 4th AD in the last 10 years.
Good riddance. No Rose Bowl, no Final Four. End of discussion.
Personally, I would not have been disappointed if Knowlton left as I never though he was a good fit for Cal.
