Cal Adds OT Lajuan Owens out of New Mexico
OL Coach Anae's Guy via UNM, Tulane, and Keller Texas
After finishing the LA Bowl the staff went back into the trenches of recruiting and began bringing in prospective bears in the portal. This time we add UNM’s LT Lajuan Owens who was coached by our new OL Coach Anae. Owens played 1 year at NM and red-shirted at Tulane and thus comes in with 3 year of eligibility left on the clock.
He was a member of the UNM OL that gave up only 5 sacks in 2024. He projects to slide into the LT or RT position or even the OG spots depending on how Coach Anae see Morrow and FWIII.
Welcome to Cal!
Big win!! Nice recruit! Hopefully the beginning of an assemblage of an o-line of nasty critters. I want guys that are good enough they can swagger as a group, knowing they are the real badasses. If Anae can build an o-line that can open run lanes and only give up 5 sacks a season, then we will be kicking some ass! At 6'5" 335# I could see him sliding to guard, Swinney back at center Vatakani at right guard, Morrow at LT and FWIII at RT.
Good pick up and I was hoping our new OL coach could get him and the other OL portal transfer from New Mexico.
