I hope those track numbers are typos. 11.66 is pretty slow for a D1 athlete at this position. A decent 100 meters in most leagues will be about 11.2. Top guys are always in the 10.X. And high jump, a decent jumper with limited talent can jump 5'6". It's a typo to put a zero before the 6 in that. Guys with good hops, good springs, D1 athlete sorts, are usually 5'8 or above. 6' is better. I've been a track coach. I went to HS with a guy who got a full ride to U$C, but was only among the tops in CA, who could walk up to a high jump and jump 6'3". He'd get elbow on the rim of the basketball hoop.

Wow...sounds like a 4* to me. Look at who recruited him?

I think this is a very good get, but I like some things bigger than just this one. This is the class of '25 and there are already 15 commits (netting out any that have *already* re-opened). These are all solid guys. I think a couple of these guys are a little better than their (247 composite) ratings. Talk about the west coast not getting covered, try getting anyone to pay attention to HI... but not just these local guys. How many years have the fans been sweating coming down to signing day with hardly any bodies in the pipe? Anyone notice how this list includes a little bit of everything? We got a QB who can develop for a year based on the bodies already in the room. We got a couple linemen on each side. How many years did we go without any OT's? (I haven't actually checked but it seemed like a lot...) Both a DT and an Edge...yay, dudes! 2 TE's that are big and can catch. A seriously good RB (my niece went to Millikan and says he's probably better than his rating.) LB's galore... and did you notice that Manutai is the lowest rated of the three DB's... even though I repeat that I think he's better than that, that's high praise for the group!

Maybe I've been a little too hard on Wilcox (maybe not, I'm already tired of "breakout" years turning out to be "breakdown" years). This does look like program building. If this is just enough to save our collective prats when the next round of alignment hits then I'll give the coach his due.

Hopefully this commitment sticks.

I love seeing the choice offer lists of our HS recruits; what I really want to know is how close was his second choice? Were we neck and neck with a school who’s still texting him with updated NIL deals, or is Cal truly his dream program with no wavering? No way to know…..

Word (in Hawaii HS circles) was that Nebraska was a shoe-in up to Sagapolutele's commitment. Based on his comments, CAL stole him because of the Pineapple Pipeline (trademark not registered, I can say that because I retired to the Big Island from Oahu) (and probably helped by the resignation of the NE DB coach). I really think the sense of dislocation going to the plains of Omaha in winter really *probably* will keep him from flipping back there. FWIW...

Can confirm, he was pretty heavy Nebraska lean originally. I think this one sticks though as long as Jaron stays.
