The 2021 football season is upon us, and the best way to recognize that it is, is with the announcement of various award watchlists for the upcoming season. The Bears have had a plethora of players added to watchlists for the 2021 season. Offense, Defense, Scholarship, Walk-On, the Bears are well represented across a variety of awards.
The Bears also were selected to various Preseason team lists from Phil Steele, Lindy’s, and also the Pac-12 Media poll.
C Mike Saffell was named to two preseason 2nd teams, before his medical retirement.
DL Luc Bequette, LB Kuony Deng, LB Cam Goode, DB Elijah Hicks, and DB Josh Drayden were all honorable mentions for the Pac-12 Media Preseason Team.
WR Kekoa Crawford was listed to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Second Team on Lindy’s and the 4th team on Phil Steele.
DB Josh Drayden was listed on the Preseason All-Pac-12 Third Team on Athlon and Phil Steele.
DB Elijah Hicks was listed as a Preseason All-Pac-12 Third team and a Player to Watch by Athlon.
LB Kuony Deng was listed to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Third Team on both Athlon and Lindy’s. He was listed to the Fourth Team on Phil Steele. He was also listed as a Key Golden Bear, LOTT Impact Trophy Watch List, and a Player to Watch by Athlon.
WR Nikko Remigio was listed to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Third Team by Phil Steele as a Punt Returner.
LB Cam Goode was listed on the Preseason All-Pac-12 Second Team by Athlon, Lindy’s, and Phil Steele. He was also listed as a Key Golden Bear and Player to Watch by Athlon.
OL Valentino Daltoso was listed to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Fourth Team by Athlon.
RB Christopher Brown Jr., who now goes by Christopher Brooks in honor of his mother, was listed as a Player to watch and Preseason All-Pac-12 Third Team by Athlon. He was listed as Preseason All-Pac-12 Second team by Lindy’s.
