Yes, we absolutely should win these early non-conference games like this routinely. Yet, I'm not all this troubled by this loss. We have a very new roster and coaching staff, so it's understandable that there's going to be an uncomfortable learning period for the program. Our kryptonite is clearly defending the 3. I'll be interested to see what fixes the staff tries to make. On the positive side, we finally have enough guys that can make shots in a variety of ways. Having a consistent low post scorer we can lean on when buckets get hard is a tremendous advantage. And our guys do a good job of attacking the basket and getting to the line. That said, we also need to prioritize threes, which so far we have not. We need more drive and kick ball distribution from the guard spots. Cone and Askew are each better off the ball IMO. I suspect we'll see Tyson take on more of the PG duties as the season moves along. I like our roster and still think we're gonna beat good teams in our conference, but there will be a learning curve over the next month or two as the staff figures out a rotation and the team develops an identity.
