Really sorry to lose Polk and Hawkins, but I understand. They were both solid performers and will be missed, but we have some young horses that should step up and fill their shoes. I wish the three going to the pros all the best and thank them for their time and sacrifices for our Golden Bears. Of the seniors who have not yet announced a decision the only one I really would like to see back is Kekoa Crawford. Daltoso might return and I would see him as the 6th man in the O-line rotation, but not as a starter unless there is an injury. He's a Greatwood guy and not and Angus guy. I am very happy about the list of returning players and I think they have all done themselves a huge favor by returning. I think another year in the weight room, and another on the field will improve the NFL prospects for the entire list of seniors returning. My big question is who is going to win the job at #2 QB?

Here we go again....another stud defense and a meh offense with Polk gone and Crawford maybe not coming back. It's okay to be the Wisconsin of the Pac 12 if you can pound the rock with the best running backs and O linemen in the conference year in and year out......Cal is pretty far away from that. Is there any chance of Tevin Paul coming back?

We have plenty of talent to step up, even if yet unproven. I'm hoping Crawford comes back.

thought Goode was NFL ready enough, but I'll take it! If they can build some depth on the DL, going to be a solid D esp with the FSU DB coming in

He's ready, but just needs more tape to go higher in the draft rankings. This was 100% a money move to stay, ironically.

100% agree. Very smart on Goode's part.

J.T. Shrout coming to PAC-12 and 2 UW QBs transfer (wish Garbers came to Cal instead) - https://247sports.com/Season/2021-Football/TransferPortal/

Goode and Drayden also updated.

Wow, now Drayden!!! Love it. He played awesome this year. Cal's D for next year is starting to look filthy.

Welp, the defense gets better with each passing day, eh?

Now, I wonder what Mr. Cardwell is thinking these days? His decision should come this month.

Cam Goode returning according to twitter

Good choice on his part. His potential is limitless but he really only has 4 games of good tape for the NFL evaluators. I hope he has an all PAC12 year next year and improves his draft status. He needs to stay healthy however.

I speculate that nothing will happen for the Bears because the athletic department is in a substantial financial operating deficit. I would imagine that there is going to be little leeway for the AD to ask the University to expand spending for a single year.

So Polk will be playing for the Pirate?

Boo. This one’s a head scratcher, b/c despite running a pass happy O, it’s not as if Leach has been churning out NFL WR. Good luck matching up weekly w/ SEC DBs as well.

How does that help Polk, who plays WR?

This has not been the case historically, as evidenced by how Leach churns out NFL QBs and not NFL WRs. I wish Polk the best, but this move is a headscratcher for me. It's not like Leach is known as a player's coach, either ("chubby little girlfriends" anyone?)

Yeah, the problem with Air Raids is how many wide receivers touch the ball. You'll never truly get the spotlight unless you're a generational talent like Crabtree. It's easier to stand out if you're one of the receivers in a pro style offense with a 5 receiver rotation than an Air Raid offense with a 10 receiver rotation. Even the Cal teams with Goff had some great receivers that all went under the radar.
