Cal football 2024 schedule released, will head to Auburn and Florida State in September
The California Golden Bears will have a tough start to 2024. Then it gets much easier.
The California Golden Bears now officially know their 2024 schedule. The full ACC schedule dropped today.
Cal will have a fairly tough September, drawing rising SEC power Auburn and playoff contender Florida State in two out of the first four weeks.
But they finish the season with a fairly ideal setup, playing five of seven games at home from the start of October to the Big Game. This is the best schedule Cal has had in many years—all of their games will be fairly winnable.
There has been one movement from previous schedule announcements—Oregon State has moved to midseason.
Here is the full ACC schedule.
Given the early Labor Day and late Thanksgiving in the 2024 calendar, there are two bye weeks for FBS teams this year.

September 14: San Diego State Aztecs
September 21: at Florida State Seminoles

Since I'm an alum of Cal and FSU, I'm especially excited about the trip to Tallahassee. Just listened the primary FSU football podcast. They said Mendoza is garbage at quarterback, implied that Cal plays on a cute little field, and said Cal will absolutely fold when it experiences the humidity down south. They even had the audacity to say that FSU won't need all week to prepare for Cal, so they can use a day or two before the Cal game to get ready for their game with SMU the following week...
The arrogance and disrespect is absolutely palpable. I really hope we can surprise some people.
I hope nobody's getting comfy with this schedule.
Will JW suddenly have his teeth filed for a winning edge?
Or will he continue to pretend to the scholarly pose?
Hmmm....
Because Cal
