That’s some real quality. If Cal can have another bowl game season next year, they might be able to set themselves up to make some noise in the ACC. The portal seems to be working in Cal’s favor.
I know a 4-star WR and the younger Purdy are the more exciting possibilities, but an experienced OT would be critical. He's apparently from Sweden so I'll be real mad if someone didn't shake down the Emeryville Ikea for some NIL money.
Despite the best efforts of Coaches Wilcox and Sirmon, both highly regarded in the west defensive minds, Cal has seen an overall decline of their defense over the last few years. So I applaud the decision depicted in the lead photo to actually deploy 7 actual bears as their front 7. An obvious solution!
And well timed, as the NCAA does not seem to be as picky about recruiting and eligibility as they were a few years ago. This new source of enhanced personnel might not have been considered acceptable a decade ago. It's NIL friendly too, a few crates of berries, a few jars of honey, and a couple of chests full of salmon probably took care of it.
Beyond the RB room, I am not seeing a clear upgrade in talent level via the portal. Did I miss something?
Cal currently has the 23rd ranked recruiting class via 247Sports: https://247sports.com/Season/2024-Football/TransferTeamRankings/
Five of the eight transfers are top 150 portal players: https://247sports.com/season/2024-football/transferportaltop/

News on the lines? Show me their minds, the coaches are blind?

Well then, I bring you good news from the future - Swedish meatballs all around!

Hope is what sustains us in the off season...
This is the way.
