Cal Football to Hire Pat McCann as Passing Game Coordinator
It's unclear as to whether McCann will take on any additional titles
Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports is reporting that Cal is reaching into some west coast roots as Tosh Lupoi’s staff continues to grow. The Bears are currently taking a look at Pat McCann, who most recently completed a stint as Oregon State’s wide receivers coach as the teams new Passing Game Coordinator.
McCann also has spent time at Fresno State, UC Davis and Eastern Washington over the course of his coaching tenure. He’s worked with Trent Walker (recently into the transfer portal), NFL guys like Mac Dalena, Jalen Moreno-Cropper and Keelan Doss.
He presided over a Bulldogs attack in 2023 that was No. 2 in the Mountain West via the pass and fifth in total offense in his first season as offensive coordinator.
It is unclear as to whether he may pick up any additional titles at this time before its officially finalized.
