Cal Football gets their QB commit in Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele
The Bears go on island time to find a gunslinger
After some reshuffling in the 2025 recruiting class, Cal seems to have found their guy under center. Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele, out of Hawaii, announced his pledge to the Bears over Boise State, Utah State, and Oregon State.
The 3* James Campbell quarterback is the highest ranked player coming out of Hawaii in the 2025 class and currently has 7,244 career passing yards heading into his senior season. He is on the hunt for Dillon Gabriel’s all time state passing record at 9,848 yards and has an inside track to at minimum coming within arm’s reach of it.
Additional comments from Jaron when he spoke with ESPN:
"It was really just at the end of the visit," Sagapolutele told ESPN. "They had checked off all the boxes. It's a place I'm going to develop. I know I'm going to succeed there. Outside of football, I know I'm going to get a good degree and that was really important to me as well."

"I know I'm going to be developed very well over there with coach Gilbert," Sagapolutele said. "It's just a great environment. We're going to win football games over there. We're going to play great competition as well. And the offense is great."
Welcome to Cal, Jaron!
Jaron has a strong arm and is especially adept at long passes
Love it! Cal got ahead of the curve and established a relationship with him. He wowed everyone at the Elite 11, and Washington threw an offer at him, but Cal were already there.
