NFL scouts will have his Cal tape; the bit about "I need to play at a huge program so scouts see me on tape" isn't applicable in the modern era. Plus, he managed to be a top national rusher this year here and most of the OL is returning while Bloesch is either staying or getting a promotion to OC/OL.

If Ott wants the glory of playing at a title contender then he'll bolt, but he didn't do that last year after we went 4-8 and he surely could have landed at a top program instead. He's on the lower end of my worries as far as potential transfers go and the Cal NIL people should find a way to get him paid his due.
I certainly hope he stays to be sure! I just know how players like JJ Arrington and Patrick Laird put up massive numbers, but because he wasn't nationally-known didn't get drafted high and thus had no NFL career to speak of. Playing in the $EC, for better or worse, gets you that national exposure. Hopefully being in the ACC will elevate things, though!
Marshawn and Jahvid were both 1st round picks and Jaydn is much closer to their level than Patrick or even JJ. Cal had 11 1st round draft picks from 2000-2016 (our last first round pick), including #1 overall pick Jared Goff in 2016, so the idea that playing here would keep someone out of high-draft-pick potential just doesn't hold up.
JJ Arrington was a second round pick. Not a good example. Laird also had a better college career than Lasco and Muhammed but the latter two got drafted. It's not the exposure.
