How???? Where will they go???? The SEC will not expand any further. The Big 10 and Big 12 just added 4 schools each from our conference. I hope these conferences change their names next year..
I do not see them going back anytime soon. As I understand it they will be in the ACC at least 10 years. Because that is when they get a full share from the ACC..

We can come back when Clemson and FSU do to the ACC as $C and company have done to the PAC 12

They could come back to merge with WSU and OSU and play with the MWC and eventually become the a PAC 12 again.
