Stoked to land Trevor. We have so many sibling players trying to do their own thing, so it is nice to get a recruit that is proud to be a legacy at Cal. When it means.more you work harder.
True, but I don't mind a 3 star from our backyard. You need to have to have those connections in place with the coaches and the schools for when a blue chip comes through.
There are only so many blue chips any given year and the vast majority go to playoffs contenders. We will be living off three stars and will need to really up our game to compete at a level where it's believable we can make the expanded playoffs when they come.
We just need to win. Furd has done that better than us recently minus the last few years. That's still on Wilcox, but he's on his hot seat tbh. If Spav doesn't turn around the offense, they're both gone.
Also with realignment, everyone assumes Furd is safe going to the B1G while Cal gets left out. I can see blue chips waiting and seeing what happens to us in the next few years
In 2023, Stanford and Cal had the same number of 4* high school recruits. Meanwhile, 11 of Cal's 19 transfers were 4* coming out of high school or as a transfer, while none of Furd's were. A lot of our transfers were also underclassmen, so it's not like they are stop gap recruits.
Furd is getting an early start on recruits but it's already an almost full class and three 4*s is not exactly a super high ratio of 4* guys. Good, not great.
I actually watched the film of this kid, and he looked faster than anyone on the field. Not sure what that says, though. But he did have an offer from Washington State that knows a thing or two about good wide receivers. The one that may me fall on the floor was the Texas kid who must have had a tough time deciding for Cal while weighing offers from Sam Houston State and Howard.
AC AC AC AL AN AN AN ES!
GO BEARS!

I'm not saying don't recruit 3-stars, but I hope we can land a few big fishes. That's going to take a bowl victory for that.

Stanford is doing just fine recruiting 4* right now with Troy Taylor. Wilcox is just not good at recruiting.

Take out the Covid year and Stanford hasn’t had a winning season since 2018.
Yes, Wilcox needs to win. No more excuses. He has two seasons to turn it around.

He is a good recruiter but lost all his momentum and buzz with the losses.
Losses and poor coaching hires who couldn’t coach or recruit.
Bad combination.
Somehow, as we enter year 7, New Year’s Eve Day in El Paso seems as far away as ever….
Forget NYE, if this team still suits up in late December that would be a huge win
