Cal football lands a 2026 commit from Murrieta OT Elisha Faamatuainu
Cal will get a solid offensive line prospect through the SoCal pipelines.
The California Golden Bears know that offensive line is a position they need to upgrade at this offseason, and they have landed a major early commitment from a highly sought-after recruit. Murrieta Valley (Ca.) offensive tackle Elisha Faamatuainu made the call to be a California Golden Bear this weekend.
Faamatuainu is the second offensive line commitment from the 2026 class, joining offensive line commit Artem Korchagin, providing additional signs that new offensive line coach Famika Anae is grinding away for talent. Major offers included Oregon, USC, BYU, Auburn, Michigan State, and SMU; Faamatuainu received his second offer from Cal early last year.
Faamatuainu has current measurables that clock in around 6-5, 300 pounds. 247Sports Composite ranks him as a top 60 offensive tackle and California prospect. His Hudl tape is available if you’d like to see his high school highlights.
Welcome to Cal Elisha!
For 2025 so far: O Line a positive step forward, offensive position players a big negative step backwards. The D may have to hold opponents to <10 points to win. Bring on the rock fights! Go Bears!
Oh, joy! Another “commitment”!
Sorry, too cynical for a Sunday morning?
