Once the Pac12 failed to land a new TV deal the die was cast. I live in the Pacific NW; I just miss the opportunity to catch the Bears whenever they played up here.

I can't wait for next season. The Jet and Jayden Orr will have some dynamic offensive lineman up front next year !

To me, this seems like a reasonable schedule. Obviously, the timing of travel will be a huge factor. Below is our 2025 competition and each school's final ranking. CAL does not play any 2024 highly ranked teams other than SMU:

SMU 10

Louisville 26

Duke 29

Minnesota 37

Boston Col 50

Va Tech 56

No. Carolina 62

CAL 72

Virginia 75

Ore St 97

Furd 102

San Diego St 122

Texas So. SWAC

I believe that Cal will be better than #72 next year. However, based on this years rankings, we play only one team that finished the year in the Top 10; and only 5 teams that finished in the top 50. We will need someone to step up so that we can have a signature win! AND we will need to win more than 6 games!!!

It's nice to play a team we have history with. The rest of the ACC schedule... who cares? A bunch of teams we have no history with except Stanford and SMU. Whatever small rivalries might have started in 2024 are meaningless, because we don't play those teams again, except Stanford and SMU. The biggest games on the schedule are probably OSU, SDSU and Minnesota, plus the Big Game.

"The ACC football schedule will drip...." Drip? Does that mean someone will leak it?

Maybe it means that it's still fluid?

I got my tickets and am going to the game and meet an old friend and misguided Beavers fan who lives in Boring Oregon. It is an actual town; perfect name for it.

My wife's a Bear grad and Beaver graduate school alum. So I have a little bit of Beaver in my heart. But I will forever hate the Beavers for how good they have been compared to our Bears. I hate them for hurting Jahvid Best. I hate them for being so reluctant to just lay down for us. I'm both sad and happy that with their greatly reduced status in the world of college football that they almost certainly are becoming a third tier team.

Frankly, I miss the PAC-10. Only feel old enough to miss the PAC-8.

I don’t. I miss the rivalries but it was a poorly run conference and was doomed the moment we didn’t add Texas and Oklahoma. As a result, the majority of the country couldn’t care less what the west coast was doing. It came to its conclusion because there wasn’t enough vision and leadership to keep up with the times.

Times to adapt. We are just in the ACC until something better comes along. Think about Cal a redshirt sophomore on a new team. The next time we get an opportunity to get in the portal and transfer for big NIL money, we should.

Yes, but you are talking about mainly Larry Scott era and after.

The Pac-10 was great (and relevant). I miss the round robin in football and the home-away round robin in basketball. It was such a better system.

Not saying we can wind the clock back...just saying it was better.

Yeah I hear that. I just came back from my son’s high school pre prom event that I never had. It was great. Amazing. Clock cannot be unwound but we can make it better for our kids. That’s why longing for the old pac 10 or 8 , as good as it was (and it was great), isn’t going to help. You love cal. So does everyone on this site. What’s more important? Cal or the PAC whatever? For me, it’s Cal. I don’t care about anything else. So why don’t we leave the past behind and support the thing we all love? Go Bears

The majority of the country could care less about the ACC now. 1 out of 8 people live in California and when you factor in Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, and so on, you can see why I say that.

Me too, and I'm really sad that OSU was so talent-poor in 2024. Most of the 2025 games are a meh, save for OSU and Furd. Even the SDSU game is a semi-meh. The portal and realignment have ruined the FBS. And the college football championship schools were by and large the perennial power houses, and I don't expect this to change. Except for USC being an also-ran, this is so sad...

Me too. Every day. Florida State at Haas? Who gives a crap. I mean, I do, but really? Where's Arizona? UCLA? Even the Fuskies? I miss our real rivals who breathe the same Pacific air.

They’ve quietly become one of the most obnoxious fanbases in the nation, at least in the social media world…

what's funny is they seem more PO'd at us for barely escaping demotion than they are at the schools that actually torpedoed the conference

Right?!?! It’s ridiculous.

And of course it’s not all Oregon State fans…but there are quite a few that schitt-talk Cal constantly. Like Lord Oski is living rent-free in their heads…..

Since, North Carolina is one our home games my concern will be if We will be Coach Bill's first opponent. Because you know that He and the rest of NC will be anticipating a big season with Bill at the helm. You know He will be able to out coach probably every coach in the ACC.

It would be nice to have some game tape to see what We will be up against when NC comes to town. All eyes in the nation will be watching them and see what Bill will have up his sleeve coaching college FB.

I think We had our one visit for awhile. Unless, We are undefeated late in the season I think with our schedule there aren't any big game matchups that I see. If they would go to a Belichick game would mostly be a early home NC game .
