Good luck to Kuony. I can only speculate that he must've talked to some NFL peeps that told him he had a good shot in the middle rounds of the draft. If he puts up some good nums on pro days or at the combine (if invited) that would be a bonus cuz they won't draft him based on production but rather potential. Perhaps he will go to a team that has immediate need at his position. I feel one more year of seasoning would have done him good.
I agree that he could have solidified himself as a mid-round pick with a solid season, and was completely bummed to watch from the stands of Amon Carter as he was carted off to the locker room. I was hoping 2021 would've been that All-Pac12 breakout year for him, which would really enhance the draft profile and put him squarely in the mix for a possible day 2 selection.
He did not have much film from 2020 either, unfortunately - I could really see him going undrafted, along with Garbers....bummer, tho he must have gotten some promising intel on his prospects.
His body of work was far from exceptional for how highly heralded he came in as a transfer. He played about as well as an average starter on the inside, and never really had a chance to prove himself playing the outside. I think NFL scouts will see length, speed and athleticism but they will also see a long thin body not made for the pounding and punishment of the NFL, especially since he was injured this year. Only time will tell for sure. Btw, has anyone else heard that Mettauer is talking with Clemson?
Losing guys to the transfer portal isn't great. But losing them to the ascendance portal is a-OK. Hope he lands on a good team and has lots of success.

Good luck to Kuony. I think he made a huge mistake.
