This is a solid under the radar snag. Look at his combine performance stats at the LA combine on page 6 of the results. For a D-Lineman all of these look outstanding except for his bench press and he can fix that. He has a great 40 and shuttle time. And his broad jump and vertical are really good for a big man. He's an athlete and the Combine stats list him at a legit 6'3". Btw, I went back to the Combine results and was able to sort by position. There was only one DT taller than him and his overall stats were the best of the entire Combine for DT's. He's an athlete and should be a solid 3 tech with a few extra 'good' pounds on him. I could see him as a younger version of Brett Johnson. https://www.rivalscampseries.com/results/2022los-angeles-ca/
Certainly it would be a lot of fun and I would really learn a lot about how the CAL O-Line sets up its assignments and blocking schemes, and yes, I would enjoy that. On the other side, Coach McClure does not need the distraction right now, nor do the kids. As they get ready for the season they need to be focused and they don't need some guy like me in the back of the room. Also, I think Coach W gave me a real good idea of some of the adaptations they are working with to generate more successful blocking schemes. I'll get my enjoyment watching our O-Line hopefully dominate and us win on Saturdays. I really appreciate your support, and I will look forward to more of the events where there will be a chance to interact with Coach W (or any Coaches for that matter). But, I'm going to leave them to do what they do without any distractions.
Welcome Big Guy! Go Bears!
And crickets on me continually asking about a fall camp schedule or report...anyone, Bueller?
He apparently has a 6-4 wingspan….
