If you follow high school recruiting, one may remember a 4-star DT recruit from last season named Jordan Renaud - a 6'3" 245 pound monster who ran competitively in the 100m (11.82 & 12.06) in Texas. Several media outlets picked up on the physical monster, including this one:
Depth on the D line is so important due to having to rotate guys to avoid players losing intensity on the D line. Once that happens, the D is very vulnerable.
Any depth piece along that front four is going to be helpful. We've got some big defensive recruits coming in. But no depth pieces and this guy is a major deaf piece who is going to have to contribute immediately. Which is a reason I'm sure he chose Cal
