Maybe the poor kid will come to his senses and recommit, just like another lost soul who decommitted and then recommitted. What was his name? Oh yeah, Jaydin Ott! Time will tell whether this kid comes back or not but one thing is for sure; There are plenty of players who are always looking for more playing time.
Sometimes you catch them from high school. Sometimes you catch them from the portal. Either way, no one with sizeable talent will let themselves be buried on the depth chart.
Cal's running back room is extremely deep. It is also full of quality running backs and one of them is a preseason all american. Sometimes you can be too successful at recruiting and this is simply the side effect. I wish him the best.

Darn! I agree with all the comments. His stock was rising, just like the QB then they bolt. Goes to show we must NEVER stop recruiting until the end.
I’m betting that much of the decommiting-everywhere, including Cal and U$C, etc.—has to do with NIL money.
Yes. The running back’s comment on quitting as much as says so.
Such a shame. Solis was the top recruit I was looking forward to watching.
For the sake of accuracy and heartstrings, maybe we should agree to change the verbiage from “committed to” to “checking things out at”.
