Cal Football Retains Defensive Back Cam Sidney
The productive back has withdrawn his name from the portal
Ten days after entering the transfer portal on new year’s morning, Cal DB Cam Sidney has withdrawn his name, and will return to the Golden Bears for the 2026 season. The 5’11” 190 pound DB is a redshirt junior with one year of remaining eligibility. He has 86 career tackles, 8 TFLs, 2 INTs, 8 pass deflections, and a forced fumble. He recorded 29 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, a sack, and two fumble recoveries in 2025.
Sidney has been an underrated player for Cal, starting six games in 2025 at nickel and safety, doing admirable work when Aidan Manutai and Isiah Crosby missed time. On January 3rd, it was announced that Sidney was set to visit Duke and UCLA

I like Cam Sidney and I am pleased he is going to play another season at Cal. Go Bears!
Welcome BACK to Cal, Cam!
