Cal Football secures the transfer of NC State QB Ben Finley
A Grad Transfer with 3 years left to play
Jake Spavital has his second transfer QB to add to the QB room in NC State QB Ben Finley. Finley, a former scout team QB, was boosted up the depth chart at the end of last season following injuries to Devin Leary and MJ Morris.
Finley was a 3-star recruit coming out of High school in Arizona. He held offers from Arizona, ASU, Colorado State and Iowa State. Finley is listed at 6’3” and 200 pounds and finished last season with 741 yards, 3 TDs, 3 INTs, 52.8% completion on 123 attempts in 3 games. He’ll have 3 years of eligibility as a grad transfer.
Welcome to Berkeley Ben!
I think this one falls into the category of non-threatening warm body with some game experience....just in case.
We could have the Second Coming of Aaron Rodgers. But if we can't protect him, it's not going to work. Those successful Tedford years were all characterized by awesome O-Lines: Marvin Phillip, O'Callahan, Aaron Merz, Alex Mack, Noris Malele, Tepper .... What we have now doesn't come close to those guys.
