interesting break between 1st and 2nd half of camp. lots of interesting things can occur during that time off. kids may study, some may not. some kids may have playbook and new jargon sink in, some may return and still be lost. either way, an interesting setup for the coaches as some players will ACTUALLY excel in the 2nd half while others won't.

was that the plan of this split camp time? dunno, but coaches will surely note the changes and make long term decisions based on it. this would be a good question to ask the coaches, IMO.

If Wilcox can’t turn things around, what about giving Eric Bieniemy a shot at head coach? He’s a PAC-12 guy. Long shot but who knows.

That would be interesting because of his Colorado background, but I believe he was a prep in the LA area that McCartney recruited in their glory years.

I'm planning on the Wilcox era/contract to run its full course and then Ron Rivera semi-retires to step in as a CEO type of head coach with a powerhouse staff.

Does he have a house / family in the Bay Area?

If not, we can provide him with one or both.

That would be pretty cool.

Bob R: You make an interesting point about Bieniemy's past indiscretions but things like this sure didn't stop Colorado from hiring Deion Sanders. Remember in the prime of his NFL years with the Cowboys, he was snorting cocaine, banging strippers and basically doing whatever he wanted to along with many of his team mates. None of that kept him out of the Hall of Fame or from getting future coaching opportunities. I like Wilcox and I hope that he can turn things around but if he can't, why not give someone like Bieniemy a shot?
