Solid roundup of all the moves! The Brummel story is pretty wild, graduating in 2.5 years while playing D1 ball. I dunno if people realize how rare that is. When this many guys leave who couldn't crack the two-deep, it's usualy a positive sign the program has real competition for spots. Tosh's portalwork should be interesting to watch unfold.
Hoping to see more OL and defense front 7 coming soon. The edge Kamauryn Morgan ended up committing to VT -- might be a blessing, as I wasnt liking the vibe of his video on x. But was hoping we'd get another 4 star caliber Edge from somewhere. Hopefully Solomon Williams is able to play up to his HS potential.
Yeah not everyone is great. It's funny seeing X or Instagram posts showing the commitments of former Cal players at new schools as it's a very exciting thing. Those guys didn't even crack the two deep at Cal. Or how they are saying TJ Bush and Taggart are one of the biggest singing ever.
Love the portal and NIL but need start all activity later, like NFL draft. After the championship game. What do those guys do at NCAA headquarters? Probably very similar to the former Pac12 conference office. NOT MUCH!
They really need to move the playoff schedule up. Admit bowl game traditions are dead, drop a regular season game (and get rid of P4-FCS matchups), drop conference championships, expand the playoffs and make the championship game on New Year's Day. The problem is their primary goal is maximizing profits, so they will only do what they think is best in that regard.
Graduating Cal in 2.5 years (Brummel) or 3 (Nando) is so impressive. I needed 2 summer classes to make it in 4. And my intramural basketball team may have required somewhat less time commitment than their athletic endeavors.
I very rarely get sad or upset with transfers after graduation because they're valuing that Berkeley degree and will be repping it on their resume for the rest of their lives.
From the article, this latest round of players entering the portal were not able to beat out the current starters. Not a big loss imho. Plus, more space for the players Tosh will recruit. With NIL, college football is definitely different from what it used to be. I believe we have a HC who can better utilize NIL to build a strong team.

They must be looking at Taggart's HS rating. He looked way out of sorts on the field whenever I saw him.

That’s the spirit!!
Wow. Some really good players leaving. Especially defensive guys. This damn portal (NIL) is ruining college sports.

Article by Max Olsen, Jan 8 on ESPN.com, ranks Cal in top 10 teams for "hottest portal starts".
Hot start yes. Hope we finish hot as top 5.
Definitely a hot start and now we have Full Tosh! We also have National Signing Day on Feb. 4. Gonna be an exciting month!
