Paris Austin's mother has passed away

On January 4, Claraissa “Reese” Jones—mother of Cal Men’s Basketball alumnus Paris Austin—unexpectedly passed away. The news was broken by head coach Mark Fox.
Paris and his sister—Paradise—have started a GoFundMe to raise funds for “funeral and burial services” and to “assist them with housing, remaining education and other life expenses”.
Paris transferred to join the Men’s Basketball team in 2017 and was a key contributor for the 2018–19 and 2019–20 seasons. He personally included this message of gratitude to all who have donated.
Hello everyone, my sister Paradise and I would like to thank you all for the continued support. The mission behind this fund is to ensure our mother has a beautiful farewell as well as covering additional expenses. Lastly, please continue to send love our way, keep us in your thoughts in prayers, donate if you are able, and spread the word about this fund.
