would rather get an o-lineman or a qb, 3 4 star rb’s are good.

Respectfully disagree with "rather"... If we get to build good depth at one position at a time then I am happy with the progress. I sort of agree, though, because I am more afraid of the lack of even adequate front line talent at QB and OL. I was pessimistic that HS signees and only a couple of transfers did not net enough talent. The grade of RB's coming in is nice, though, so maybe the coaches will continue with targeted talent...maybe... The TE transfers are not highest stars, but some analysts like the idea they are heavy into blocking, so, again maybe it makes sense...maybe... I am not excited that Wilcox can bring the floor up as HC. Given that I am a CAL fan and he's not going away any time soon...I can't pump the sunshine but I can rationalize a scenario where this is building a better talent/scheme alignment...Is that an example of Stockholm syndrome?

I'll completely disagree with you re TE's and OL. I think both incoming tight ends, while having lower star rankings than Terry, will play better. They will certainly block better, and it won't be tough to catch better. I think you need to look at the player in college and see film on them. High school star rankings mean nothing in FBS and P5 football after the first year. Second, while we may not be deep on our o-line, we do have big athletic guys who need to be coached up. I think McClure was a fucking disaster. I am hopeful Bloesch will do a much better job. Only time will tell. As to QB I agree. We need to land a stud QB and soon.

I think TEs are our new O-linemen….

Yeah. That Bear Insider quote..."After the departure of a pair of tight ends not known for their blocking,". Which makes me wonder...who the heck is Alberding?

Hopefully the repeated mentions "two Cal Bear Quarterbacks" on the primetime game tonight influences our recruits.
