Cal Men’s Basketball brings in PG Dai Dai Ames through the portal
The Former top 100 player joins from an ACC opponent
The Bears may have secured their Point Guard for the upcoming season. Dai Dai Ames is reportedly joining the Bears after entering the portal from Virginia. The guard spent last year with the Cavaliers but prior to that spent a year at Kansas State. The Chicago native continues a Berkeley lineage of Chicago guards to play at Haas.
The 6-1 guard was a top 20 point guard and overall top 100 player in the 2023 class. He joins the Bears after shooting a career high 39.7% from 3 and 46% from the field at Virginia.

Plus defender, plus shooter. His assists numbers are low, but the VA offense was not good last year. Overall, I'm very happy with the pickup.
Agree that he seems like a great pickup but I’m always skeptical of dudes that play for 3 schools in 3 years.
