Cal Men’s Basketball Guard Jaylon Tyson gets drafted 20th by the Cavaliers
Another Bear into the NBA
After starring for the Bears in 2023-2024, Cal junior Guard Jaylon Tyson was drafted 20th overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Tyson averaged 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists over the course of the the past season. He was honored with an All-Pac-12 selection for his performance. Amongst Pac-12 players he was top 10 in points, rebounds and assists. He set his name in Cal record books setting the 7th highest single season point total with 607.
Tyson was project anywhere from the mid 20’s to early second round, but the Cavs had seen enough in pre-draft workouts to snag him with the 20th pick.
