So proud of Jaylon. He is so talented on the court, and gave the most authentic post game interviews of any player I’ve seen.
After some big wins he would come out into the halls of Haas to talk to family, friends and fans.
Also liked watching his mom who would come to his games, and spoke to her briefly after a game and laughed together about some of those high pressure crunch time moments
Tyson has a really well-rounded skillset for a wing. He’s a good shooter, a strong driver who can play through contact going to the rim, and he has a good feel for how to pick his spots off the ball. He’s not elite in any one category, but if he can hold his own defensively, he does enough well to fit into any lineup construction.
Let’s hope he enjoys as good a career as another Golden Bear who went to the Cavs in the first round. In the middle of his rookie season, they then ill-advisedly traded him to the Suns.
Yes…more proof of how critically important great coaching is: in all sports. Not just skill development , but confidence building and making the key connection/promoting to the NBA (MLB etc). This guy bounced around before coming to Cal. Madsen did an amazing job with him….. no other college basketball coach could have done this with him, in 1 year no less!
Congratulations also to Coach Mark Madsen who recognized his talent, featured him, developed him, and knew NBA people to get him tons of looks. Just so fabulous.

Guess I’m now a Cavs fan!
Will certainly miss him. He’s a leader and people follow him. Here’s one final look…

A Swiss Army knife?
Pretty sure I’ve seen him do a corkscrew shot after knifing thru the lane. Not sure what he’s doing with the tweezers and toothpick, tho.

Really happy for Jaylon after such a winding path! And Madsen too!
