Cal Men’s Basketball Junior Guard Jalen Celestine will miss start of 2022-2023 season
Bears will start season without one of their top scorers
Some unfortunate news to before the start of the new athletic calendar. Cal Men’s Basketball announced that Junior Guard Jalen Celestine will miss the start of the 2022-2023 campaign. Celestine had surgery on his knee this spring.
“This is the second consecutive year that Jalen has had to endure an offseason surgery, but his approach to the recovery process has been terrific,” Cal head coach Mark Fox said. “We’ll be excited once he’s fully healthy and ready to return to the court.”
The junior guard averaged 7.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game last season. Celestine’s return to the court does not currently have a timetable.
We wish Jalen a speedy recovery!
Any idea on when they anticipate when he might return? Conference season maybe?
Program is snakebit.
