Cal men's basketball lands a commitment from Delaware transfer John Camden
The California Golden Bears have a critical big shooter to add to Mark Madsen's lineup.
The California Golden Bears were not good enough defensively last season. They appear to have rectified it with size and versatility in this offseason transfer portal cycle. The newest commit is Delaware stretch forward John Camden.
Camden, a 6'8", 220-pound forward, averaged 16.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.7 made threes per game on 40% shooting from beyond the arc at Delaware, earning All-CAA second team honors. Now at California, he brings proven scoring, size, and perimeter shooting, hopng to make an immediate impact.
Camden joins a host of new transfers that includes Michigan shooting guard Justin Pippen, Loyola (Md.) power forward Milos Ilic, Virginia point guard Dai Dai Aimes, Campbell shooting guard Nolan Dorsey. The Bears should be on paper a more talented group in their starting rotation, as Andrej Stojakovic figures to be the focal point of the new offense next year.
Welcome to Cal John! Go Bears!
Can he also play running back ?
The stats are certainly there. We'll see how his game translates.
