I was wondering why anyone would bother televising Cal men’s basketball in its current iteration, but I do suppose Mark Fox coached teams are effective at curing insomnia.

I can't believe Miller is still their coach. What does that guy have on everybody?

Is Arizona going to the get the death penalty is my most intriguing question . . . I think players should be able to get paid, and Arizona's biggest issue is they got caught, but on the other hand, I dislike Arizona fans immensely. On the third hand, college basketball as a whole without Arizona is most assuredly worse - so whatever gives them the most embarrassment without eliminating the program is what i'm hoping for.

Interesting question...while we all have our own experiences & biases, IMHO Arizona fans are definitely the worst in the P12, just a titch ahead of Oregon, Stanford, Washington & of course the LA schools...and, it’s never a good look to have a marquee program get hit with a scandal...Self & Kansas are in the soup, too, or will be in a few years when the NCAA gets around to it. All of the top programs are paying recruits though, in some way, so you’re right, T: don’t get caught. I bet U of A gets a post-season ban, & Miller gets a show-cause, like Pearl did the 1st time he got caught cheating...now there’s a cheater.

I don't really want them to get the death penalty. Arizona is the best modern Pac-12 program and if we want to elevate the conference (and in basketball it matters) then we need strong teams everywhere. But I would like them embarrassed too.

Such a shame they didn't get to play more in the Tourney, but I was really pleased with their progress. Sure miss basketball. Go Bears!

Thanks Rick! Still hopeful for .500 as we continue our crawl to Mark Fox-ian Mediocrity from the farthest depths of the Wyking Abyss, but it could be tough with this schedule...10-10 maybe seems like the absolute ceiling? It'll be interesting to see the effect, if any, attendance (of any kind) has on ALL games...a trip to Eugene perhaps doesn't seem AS daunting in an empty Knight Arena in the end of Dec...dunno - fully empty gyms, or at least nearly, seem like a wild card.

Question for you Rick, and others more dialed in with the Hoops program...any news on whether Jared Hyder has pursued a waiver to be eligible immediately following his transfer from Fresno St? Not surprisingly, the corrupt NCAA waived the sit year for UK's impact 7'-er from WFU, much like they did with Justin Fields at Ohio St...they just love their blue-bloods. But it was rumored that transfer waivers in the COVID-era would be more lenient and common, so I was wondering if Hyder was going to pursue one. Be nice to see him in the PG mix...

Go Bears.
