It’s 4 guards and a Center. You could say some are forwards but they handle the ball and play so much on the perimeter that they’re more designated as guards.
Villanova had one of their best teams under Jay Wright when they ran a 4 guard and 1 forward system led by Randy Foye, Allen Ray, Kyle Lowry and Mike Nardy.
It’s not uncommon now esp with positionless basketball and getting size and length equal across the 2-4 spots.
1 PG, 1 C, and three 6-7 'guards' ... will be difficult to get a shot off against that defense (and their center is a shot block so also tough to drive and finish
Cody Riley is also going to play, made his return against LBSU so I imagine he might either get 6th man minutes or get the nod over Myles Johnson.
Hope I'm wrong, but this one is gonna be ugly.
Not really hopeful about this one. The question is: might the match-ups be better than the size and athleticism of USC?
