The Bears secured the commitment of SG/SF Sam Alajiki, early Friday morning. Alajiki is the second commit in the 2021 class for the Bears joining Bishop O’Dowd guard Marsalis Roberson.

Alajiki is playing for St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark, New Jersey, but is original from Dundalk, Ireland. He will be another addition to the international contingent on the Bears roster. The 6-foot-7 wing also held offers from Columbia, New Mexico, Howard, and Oral Roberts.

From initial scouting, he looks like an adept finisher at the rim with both hands, has good decision making and instincts in transition with some bounce. He also looks light on his feet being able to shift his weight to slide past defenders on the drive either in his hop step or while dribbling.

We’ll have more on his scouting report in the coming months!

Welcome to Berkeley, Sam!
