Heck we scored 71. Right in our area of comfort if not a bit more than we are used to. The problem is they scored 96 and seemingly made every 3 pointer, even with decent defense played by the Bears. Have to tip the hat to Arizona.

This blowout makes me feel lucky that my cable provider does not have the Pac 12 network. Listening on the radio is painful enough

Flop

Let’s avoid UA getting 100

25 point loss … we just got rolled by a machine

They look better than any team in the conference

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Well, they did today v. an overmatched, bottom tier Cal team.

Tuesday at Pauley will be a bigger test. Not ready to crown the ‘Cats until they at least play a game v. SC/LA/OR

hoopdreams's avatar

Yeah, they haven’t played the top of the conference yet, but they look better to my eye

They're undoubtedly a good team - just saying a blowout win v. this below-average Cal team in what is usually a decidedly bad matchup for the Bears from an athleticism standpoint doesn't necessarily stamp the 'Cats as the class of the Conference just yet.

Again, their road wins are meh, and home wins v UW, CO and Utah are nothing more than solid.

Well you are right. UCLA slicing and dicing the cats, and beating them at their own game

My opinion was shaded by our games vs both teams

Not optimistic about our games in LA

2K aggressive in this game

Cal missing lots of FTs

The thing about a game like this is AZ out classes the entire pac 12 including UCLA, USC and Oregon

Shouldn't draw too much from this game, hoop...this is an awful matchup for a Cal team that's light on P12 caliber players....Wildcats are bigger, stronger, faster, better and their style of play favors a blowout...SC and UCLA can match the 'Cats talent, and they're good enough to control the tempo.

U of A is good, no doubt, but can't say they outclass the others considering they have yet to even face any of those 3 teams.

KJ1980's avatar

UA has some talent.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Ya...we just don't have the horses to compete with this level of talent and scheme...

SC and UCLA are equally good, but the style of play is more conducive to Fox's early-1950's, Indiana high school basketball style. We've always struggled with athletic teams that are capable on offense....

Kelly has his hands full playing vs their 7 footer, but if that’s not enough they are doubling him

He somehow got a pass out of there anyway that time but no bucket

6 min in this game is over.

KJ1980's avatar

Yes. A 17-3 deficit is not a promising start

Bluehenbear's avatar

Yeah, can’t watch. Officiating is bullshit.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Probably need a six 3 day from Grant, Shepherd to hit +50% of his shots and <10 team TO’s just to keep this one close...could get out of hand early.

hoopdreams's avatar

Yeah, we need to play a really good game to keep game competitive, defend, rebound, limited turnovers, hit the open shots we do get, stay out of foul trouble, and get their shot 7 footers in foul trouble

Agree. They run a better offense and more talented and athletic than ucla
