I’m actually a little surprised how bad they are. When they went with Fox, I didn’t love the hire but understood it…I figured sure, Cal now has a relatively low ceiling, but based on his time in Athens, they should have a decent floor. I mean, he would stabilize the carnage that Mike Williams and Wyking Jones hath wrought, and by year 4 or 5, he’d get them close to .500. Hell, if things broke right and he hit on a recruit or a scoring grad transfer, maybe even in the bubble conversation…boy howdy…smdh.
As a relatively new AD, when the high floor guy you hired (over exciting, young up and coming guys) is looking at 0-9, I think it’s fair to wonder if you made a mistake with your second career choice.
If someone told me when Fox was hired that in four years he'd have us as good as Louisville I'd have been thoroughly impressed.
I'm still impressed, but only by how bad he's been.
