Cal can get blown out twice without having to fly across the country to do so.

Okay, Debbie Downer!!!! AGAIN!!!!! C'mon, man, we're Cal; we have unsupported hope because that's ALL we have!!!

Ha, true, and I'm not happy in the least, but I am too much of a Cal fan to be a sunshine pumper!! Also, this is more realism than Debbie Downer-dom, necessarily. Watching this Tournament has made me realize just how far away we are from competing for an at-large. The depths that Mike Williams & Wyking sent this program are devastating, and while we'll eventually right the ship, it's going to take a few more years. We are light on athleticism, quickness, and talent.

The word amongst my sources in the coaching community is that Bradley is looking at a grad transfer to another P12 school...which sucks.

That’s my mistake on the Florida matchup. Florida didn’t show up on Cal’s website for historical matchups so I assumed there wasn’t any. Thanks for the find!

I just hope we see an uptick in our performance next season.

It's unlikely, especially when Bradley transfers to U of A....sigh.

We do have a little history with Florida. We beat a very hyped Dwayne Schintzius/Vernon Maxwell/Andrew Moten-led Gators team in the '86 Rainbow Classic. I know, cause I was there. I remember baby Scott Miller was there too, leading his Pitt team. We lost the next two games to Wisconsin and Arkansas. I got my scuba licence on that trip and I haven't scuba'd since. :(

Apparently, Cal is 2-0 against Florida, with a game in Hawaii (83-80 in '86) like PawlOski said and the other one was in Alaska (73-58 in '88).

A-hah! I was trying to find another reference to us playing them in the eighties, cause I have pretty vivid memory of listening to us playing them while me and dad were camping on the beach all the way down in San Felipe, Baja. The KGO signal was God-like.
