Editor’s Note: Updated with matchup against Florida.
Cal Men’s Basketball announced that they will be one of four teams in the Fort Meyers for the Fort Meyers Tip-Off in 2021. The event is scheduled to take place during Thanksgiving weekend. The other 3 teams playing in the tournament are Florida, Ohio State, and Seton Hall. The event is in its fourth annual iteration hosted by Florida SouthWestern State College at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
There are some storylines to follow here with the potential opponents:
-The Bears last faced off against Seton Hall in the Pearl Harbor Basketball Tournament in 2016, losing the game 57-60.
-If the Bears take on Ohio State, they will have to face former player Justice Sueing. The Bears also played the Buckeyes in 2008 and 2009, losing both matchups in the home-and-home series.
—The Bears are 2-0 against Florida after facing them in 1986 and 1988. This would be the first matchup for the two teams in the new millennium.
This could be a very interesting tournament and gauge to whether or not the Bears can be competitive heading into the 2021-2022 Pac-12 schedule. Something to keep an eye on later this year.

That’s my mistake on the Florida matchup. Florida didn’t show up on Cal’s website for historical matchups so I assumed there wasn’t any. Thanks for the find!
Cal can get blown out twice without having to fly across the country to do so.
