Yet again for Cal it will be up to the O and if they can score any points. Talk out of camp, which is always bullish is that Garbers has improved dramatically. Is the OL ready to go with possibly 3 new starters? We will find out who the starters are 2morrow morning when the depth chart is released. The OL has to perform and help out Garbers as much as possible. I'm bullish on the OL but realistic; a 60% turnover in the group means they likely haven't jelled...yet.
Obviously we can't have any issues on ST.
We will know by half time what type of team we have. Get the win (hopefully) and continue to improve over the next few weeks, which typically are the largest improvement gains in a season. But no more excuses about COVID are partial install of the offense. They've had a full camp to prepare.
Given Wilcox's history of completely taking the air out of the ball with any type of 2H lead, we probably won't know what kind of team we have until the final whistle.
We could look like gangbusters in 1H, and then predictably hibernate mid 3Q with a lead and let a pesky Wolfpack team with an elite QB hang around due to multiple 3 & outs...
