This should be working now! any issues please tweet at me!

WilderThanGene's avatar

I attempted to comment unsigned in and it said Subscriber only

WilderThanGene's avatar

or unsubscribed i mean. (i thought i was already a subscriber but i think something went wrong when i subscribed weeks ago). subscribed now!

nevertheless, this page was locked (a few minutes ago at least)

Rob Hwang's avatar

Thats so strange cz i double checked. to make sure it wasnt and usually theres a lock sign next to the article name if its for subs only.

Justbear's avatar

Even though you unlock it for everyone, it happens every week. We know this happens every time, so why can't we just keep the first half thread?

HaasBear's avatar

Really appreciate the change to open the second half thread to comments as well. GO BEARS!

Rob Hwang's avatar

Sorry guys. there's definitely some coding errors. We're double checking to make sure we are clicking it as an open thread, but it keeps registering as a closed (paid) thread. Appreciate sticking around and we'll make sure to get around it.

OldSoCalBear's avatar

Also itโ€™s not blocked like the other subscribers-only threads. I can see the posts and the comments, can thumbs-up comments, but canโ€™t post.

Rob Hwang's avatar

oh got it. thats helpful. Ill check to make sure its not the same URL. that might be it if were copy and pasting. Thanks for the heads up

peeps it may "just be Buffalo" but this is what Cal is suppose to do against a bad team, thank gawd they are ACTUALLY doing it....

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Still, GEAT, in year 5, they should not be getting win #2 in late OCT with their only 2 wins coming v. awful, overmatched teams...no?

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Disagree, respectfully Taco. This year is already a disaster and a major red flag for Wilcox and the coaching staff, and wins v FCS Sac St and an awful Colorado team changes nothing.

HaasBear's avatar

This. So much this.

chowder's avatar

I don't like that the offense seemingly disappeared in the second half. Still way too inconsistent.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

This is a 5 year trend & the by-product of a coaching philosophy to take the air out of the ball and sit on leads.

OldSoCalBear's avatar

Dang Hicks what a game

WilderThanGene's avatar

Nice day for the old Taker

Bongo Bear's avatar

Is anyone else concerned that it looks like weโ€™ll only score 3 points in the second half?

paulie's avatar

Yep but Iโ€™ll worry about that another day :)

chowder's avatar

I am. Enjoy the win, but Cal is still not a good team.

Old Bear 71's avatar

Yes, especially vs Colorado

HaasBear's avatar

Yes. But we also changed philosophy a bit which is the right decision with a 17 point lead and the ball to open the half.

WilderThanGene's avatar

OK, who is willing to admit they WANTED that blocked FG for TD to stand in order to dump on Ragle more?

Bongo Bear's avatar

I donโ€™t need a missed field goal to shit on Ragle.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

If Ragle is not re-assigned and remains ST Coach next season, it's a huge red flag for Wilcox. If Justin hasn't already seen enough, he never will.

chowder's avatar

I want the team to enjoy this and have a good night with as little negativity to dwell on as possible.

paulie's avatar

Donโ€™t worry regardless of the outcome I still will dump on Ragle

BiPolarPolarBear's avatar

Every time that we cause a turnover, our offense acts like they werenโ€™t ready and give it right backโ€ฆ

WilderThanGene's avatar

whoever at the pac 12 network thought it was a good idea to a pregame and halftime show live from a different team's empty stadium -- kudos to you. the depressing aura and low production quality makes me feel so proud of our conference of champions.

Drow's avatar

It's a terrible look for the Pac12.

ak_A_bear's avatar

Yes. Studio set is better for that.

Drow's avatar

104 yards of offense for Colorado.

OldSoCalBear's avatar

Holy shit thatโ€™s amazing

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

using golf parlance, "Cal left a lot of birdies out there on the course today", but a win is a win; and hot dang for that defense...I don't care if this is "just Buffalo".

OldSoCalBear's avatar

Key element of winning football: find an opponent that really sucks

Justbear's avatar

But people get mad when we play FCS

OldSoCalBear's avatar

Not me. One per year is good.

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

Hicks finally playing the game we all expected this year from him, good on 'ya Hicks

Drow's avatar

I can't believe Chase leads the Pac12 in total offense.

Justbear's avatar

If there were a fantasy football for NCAA I would not take anyone from Cal offense other than Garbers. I think his running ability is really valuable.

Drow's avatar

Not Nikko or Hunter or Brooks?

Justbear's avatar

No, I don't think they get the ball consistently

freespeechlover's avatar

Nothing is believable this season about the Pac12

freespeechlover's avatar

Wilcox looks relaxed and happy.

chowder's avatar

I wish the announcers would stop talking about his knee, it was clearly his shin/ankle.

Bongo Bear's avatar

Exactly. Wasnโ€™t that hard to see.

Justbear's avatar

knee is not down

TezCalipoca's avatar

TD, not enough evidence!

HaasBear's avatar

Thatโ€™s a tud

chowder's avatar

Shades of Brendan Bigelow vrs Ohio State.

freespeechlover's avatar

Cal needs to score here, so I can do an errand.

chowder's avatar

the last two marks were favorable to Cal, maybe the refs are ready to call it a day and want Cal to just run out the clock.

HaasBear's avatar

Sacks are more fun when itโ€™s not our QB going down!

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

Zellers unsportsmanlike hmmmm, guess he's pissed he isn't the LS on PAT's and FG's so took it out on a Buff, (Zellers is Cal's long snapper for those who may not know)

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

it feels like 90% of CG's passes are to the check down route

GlueAndBold's avatar

Hooray, a non-subscriber can post!

Joseph Kim's avatar

We should just switch QB and OC in 2H for the rest of this year. Lol

Drow's avatar

Garbers: 396 passing yards 96 rushing yards 2TD.

Joseph Kim's avatar

A good week: We won't lose any more recruits this week hopefully. Lol

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

would've been nice to the offense play at a higher level in the 2nd half, oh well

Joseph Kim's avatar

So whose fault is bad offense in 2H? Is it Garbers or Musgrave or something else?

chowder's avatar

I'd say the penalties and playcalling, which is on the coaches.

Old Bear 71's avatar

Plus Dancy got robbed

chowder's avatar

Eh, I think his shin was pretty clearly down.

freespeechlover's avatar

Joe Starkey is 80? Time flies...

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

this had better be QB2 or 3 or 4 for Cal on this series

paulie's avatar

Maybe QB 2-5 ate some bad food

paulie's avatar

Wait why is Garbers out there

chowder's avatar

Why Garbers?!?!

chowder's avatar

Pick ball? 3rd and long with a fresher QB.

Justbear's avatar

Yay colorado penalty

OldSoCalBear's avatar

4 for 4 on field goals today?

Go Eat A Taco's avatar

Cal should go for it now

Justbear's avatar

only against Cal

Bongo Bear's avatar

Knee never touched

TezCalipoca's avatar

Dancy must be his real name!
