Thats so strange cz i double checked. to make sure it wasnt and usually theres a lock sign next to the article name if its for subs only.

Justbear's avatar

Even though you unlock it for everyone, it happens every week. We know this happens every time, so why can't we just keep the first half thread?

Expand full comment
HaasBear's avatar

Really appreciate the change to open the second half thread to comments as well. GO BEARS!

Sorry guys. there's definitely some coding errors. We're double checking to make sure we are clicking it as an open thread, but it keeps registering as a closed (paid) thread. Appreciate sticking around and we'll make sure to get around it.

I blame Ragle

Also itโ€™s not blocked like the other subscribers-only threads. I can see the posts and the comments, can thumbs-up comments, but canโ€™t post.

peeps it may "just be Buffalo" but this is what Cal is suppose to do against a bad team, thank gawd they are ACTUALLY doing it....

Still, GEAT, in year 5, they should not be getting win #2 in late OCT with their only 2 wins coming v. awful, overmatched teams...no?

Expand full comment
Go Eat A Taco's avatar

not the point

Expand full comment
Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Disagree, respectfully Taco. This year is already a disaster and a major red flag for Wilcox and the coaching staff, and wins v FCS Sac St and an awful Colorado team changes nothing.

Expand full comment
HaasBear's avatar

This. So much this.

Expand full comment
chowder's avatar

I don't like that the offense seemingly disappeared in the second half. Still way too inconsistent.

Expand full comment
Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

This is a 5 year trend & the by-product of a coaching philosophy to take the air out of the ball and sit on leads.

Dang Hicks what a game

Nice day for the old Taker

Expand full comment
Bongo Bear's avatar

Is anyone else concerned that it looks like weโ€™ll only score 3 points in the second half?

Expand full comment
paulie's avatar

Yep but Iโ€™ll worry about that another day :)

Expand full comment
chowder's avatar

I am. Enjoy the win, but Cal is still not a good team.

Expand full comment
Old Bear 71's avatar

Yes, especially vs Colorado

Expand full comment
HaasBear's avatar

Yes. But we also changed philosophy a bit which is the right decision with a 17 point lead and the ball to open the half.

Expand full comment
WilderThanGene's avatar

OK, who is willing to admit they WANTED that blocked FG for TD to stand in order to dump on Ragle more?

Expand full comment
Bongo Bear's avatar

I donโ€™t need a missed field goal to shit on Ragle.

Expand full comment
Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

If Ragle is not re-assigned and remains ST Coach next season, it's a huge red flag for Wilcox. If Justin hasn't already seen enough, he never will.

Expand full comment
chowder's avatar

I want the team to enjoy this and have a good night with as little negativity to dwell on as possible.

Expand full comment
paulie's avatar

Donโ€™t worry regardless of the outcome I still will dump on Ragle

Every time that we cause a turnover, our offense acts like they werenโ€™t ready and give it right backโ€ฆ

whoever at the pac 12 network thought it was a good idea to a pregame and halftime show live from a different team's empty stadium -- kudos to you. the depressing aura and low production quality makes me feel so proud of our conference of champions.

using golf parlance, "Cal left a lot of birdies out there on the course today", but a win is a win; and hot dang for that defense...I don't care if this is "just Buffalo".

If there were a fantasy football for NCAA I would not take anyone from Cal offense other than Garbers. I think his running ability is really valuable.
