That's what we figured about the UCLA transfer QB, Modster? It turned out that he was throwing hot lava that the receivers could not catch. On paper, he seemed that he should be good, but...
2nd half game plan. Hold them to one field goal. Cal gets a field goal. Then out of no where Weaver comes in for the pick six to seal the only touchdown for the game. Cal wins 10 to 9.
Better yet. Marshawn takes a cart and rides by the U-dub bench. Asks Penix if he'd like to ride shotgun with a Beast. Drives cart (with Penix in it) out of the stadium....
He has to complete the easy passes when there is no pressure...he can't even do that. He's the glass man; scared shitless of getting hit. It's flipping football. He needs to toughen up.
Hoping this O returns intact is wishful thinking, I fear.
Given the proliferation of the NIL and the transfer portal, it would be a wonderful surprise to get everyone back. Unfortunately, we're likely looking at another year of Jack Plummer, and I think many of us have seen enough.
I am tired of watching rock fight games! I watched Sonny’s team play well today. There was offense and scoring and a victory. I am sick of this brand of football.
There was precious little defense with Sonny, whos teams really helped justify the tag "Cardiac Cal" for us fans. The over and unders were typically over 60. We'd score, but would, in turn, dread the answering scores going through the porous defense. Honestly, If WIlcox could a mildly above-average offense and keep up this defense, we'd be contenders every season. It may be ugly, were we to have this mildly above-average offense, but sweetened by victory.
Mason Starling is a gamer. Even in the Colorado game he was big.

I hated the run and shoot games stylistically. They were so boring and took forever.
I think the backup QB and the previous HC are the most popular people during down years.

I don't know about you, but I didn't really enjoy the Dykes years that much. It felt so futile when the defense couldn't stop wet toilet paper.

It was so much more fun to watch Texas play OSU or TCU play KState today.
Last week it was great to watch USC and Utah. Or Tennessee / Alabama.
