Trying to get my head around the fact that the turning point of this game is when we blocked a punt.

Archon79's avatar

Its time for a QB change, folks

GB III's avatar

If they don’t do something it will be time for a fan change!

BearlyThere's avatar

Can’t change where we went. ‘Tis our lot

GB III's avatar

I will re-enroll at a different College!

TD_24's avatar

The one constant the coaching staff has had is defending the air raid (aside from USC 2019) and if that's gone....that could be the sign.

Rob Hwang's avatar

Sorry all had to republish, there was an error saying only paying subscribers could chat

Justbear's avatar

Great social distancing by our fans

BigWinning's avatar

Turns out Cal fans were ahead of their time back then.

Bowlbasaur's avatar

I applaud the 800 Cal fans still at the stadium.

KetamineCal's avatar

We don't deserve praise for being stupid.

KetamineCal's avatar

It's less a choice and more cocooning. At least that's the opinion of 1 of the 800

Lapachet75's avatar

I'm here for The Band. Is there something else going on? 😜

KetamineCal's avatar

22 uniformed guys keep interrupting the performance!

AndDriveDriveDrive's avatar

I have been a big fan of Wilcox. I might be ready to throw in the towel. I still don’t trust our AD to actually hire anyone serious, though.

Bongo Bear's avatar

Prepare to be disappointed. Watch it be someone like Kevin Sumlin.

Bongo Bear's avatar

You think Sumlin is Tedford 2.0?

Joseph Kim's avatar

Troy Taylor or Mike MacIntyre

OldSoCalBear's avatar

It’s be Taylor unless he pissed off one of the backers 30 years ago

Bluehenbear's avatar

Admin will never go for Mac with his history

Bluehenbear's avatar

Admin isn’t serious about football

Bowl on you bears's avatar

They transferred $200 million in stadium debt from the AD to the university. They know how important football is to the AD.

AndDriveDriveDrive's avatar

I have this feeling that we are about 10 years from the university giving us some bizarre reason why football is immoral.

C Bass's avatar

Hearns has heart. Will be a good cb.

C98's avatar

can he be the head coach

Bongo Bear's avatar

Heart isn’t enough. He needs to get bigger and stronger or the good WRs in the conference will absolutely bully him.

C Bass's avatar

Only a true freshman. Look at D Scott when he came in…he is a stud now.

Bongo Bear's avatar

Not saying Hearns can’t be great, but his size will be a major disadvantage.

Bongo Bear's avatar

D Scott came in 6’2” and ~200 lbs.

Justbear's avatar

Conte was super skinny when he was playing as true freshman

C Bass's avatar

He is 6/2 205 now. He was very thin when he came in. And he was not thrown into the line of fire his freshmen year

Justbear's avatar

So now I'm back to Fire Musgrave bandwagon

BigWinning's avatar

Welcome back. We kept your seat warm.

Archon79's avatar

Is Musgrave telling Garbers to checkdown on every 3rd down?

HelloBowlesHall's avatar

Aaand that does it for me folks, heading home. Truly atrocious football.

AndDriveDriveDrive's avatar

What makes me the most sad about this is that I really WANT Wilcox to succeed.

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Wilcox has already peaked and is in decline and Musgrave just doesn’t have it. I think we need to cut the cord and get someone like a Troy Taylor. We can’t get a big name Coach but need a solid one with Cal connections.

docsuess84's avatar

Cal QB in 87-89 and current head coach of Sac State.

docsuess84's avatar

I’m so depressed, everything seems serious.

Bluehenbear's avatar

Wtf with cal connections? We need recruiting

Cheeks Bossman's avatar

We’re making wsu look like it has elite athletes at every position

C98's avatar

That’s Cal’s superpower. Always has been.

HelloBowlesHall's avatar

We always play down to the competition. Sometimes up too but not always.

Bowlbasaur's avatar

Shane Vereen said it best- “That was just… not good.”

Justbear's avatar

he finally admits it

KetamineCal's avatar

I am legit going to go get gelato on my way back to my car. Need to be in a better mood before finding out my car's been towed or broken into or something.

OldSoCalBear's avatar

No idea what this means but it seems worthy of a rec

Wiata78's avatar

There's always rec for gelato

chuss's avatar

Yeah me too. That’s a good strain. Especially when I’m sad.

Archon79's avatar

I feel bad for the defense they actually played lights out after the first 2 drives

KetamineCal's avatar

Me still sitting here getting sunburned is just masochism at this point.

BigWinning's avatar

If we weren’t masochists we wouldn’t be Cal fans.

KetamineCal's avatar

My first game was 25 *years ago.

*Years autocorrected to tears and that just says it all.

Wiata78's avatar

Way more tears than 25

Archon79's avatar

I love Garbers heart, I do but this ain’t it.

chuss's avatar

He must not have had a good nights sleep.

chuss's avatar

The problem is the O Line in my opinion.

Winebear's avatar

Not sure if it is our O line or the Cooug secondary

chuss's avatar

Wazzu has just outplayed us in every facet.

GB III's avatar

Stanford wins. This is a bad day.

KetamineCal's avatar

Highlight of the game: the abandoned stadium seat I took over for the 4th.

KetamineCal's avatar

Honorable mention: not being stung by the bee that kept landing on me.

Winebear's avatar

I can’t imagine looking at this tape - I would simply burn it and make them runs stairs and sprints all week

chuss's avatar

Musgrave should run too.

KetamineCal's avatar

Need to don a N95 and a face shield before viewing.

TezCalipoca's avatar

and what's worse is we are giving that anti-vaxxer rolovich some chance of keeping his job

ak_A_bear's avatar

Feel better about camping/fishing options this month. No worries about missing live viewing.

KetamineCal's avatar

Just sing the Cal Drinking Song while you cast and you're covered.

KetamineCal's avatar

I don't think that play was drawn up like that, probably because it was illegal.

Archon79's avatar

Defense has done their job

OldSoCalBear's avatar

Fourth law of thermodynamics- offense and defense cannot be simultaneously good

Winebear's avatar

I have a plan: find what works and then STOP doing it?

BigWinning's avatar

Stole the word right out of my mouth.

Archon79's avatar

If wasszu has a good QB we would be down 4 touchdowns

C Bass's avatar

I hate to say it, but I think they should make a qb change.

Bongo Bear's avatar

Milner. Might as well get a sneak peak at next year.

HelloBowlesHall's avatar

Does it matter? We’ll have a full quarter of garbage time.

HelloBowlesHall's avatar

Was that non PI as bad on tv as it was live?

freespeechlover's avatar

Yeah, that was a pretty incredible ending.

Justbear's avatar

Did we just abandon Tight Ends? They didn't catch or block

Archon79's avatar

This is the type of loss that can destroy the morale of a team and a program. The Wilcox era is in big trouble.

OldSoCalBear's avatar

Every throw is either a check down or over the top. Never a slant, never a deep cross, never a seam route. Nothing ever in the middle 10 yards downfield. Why?

Calbears93's avatar

100% my biggest frustration with the program with Garbers at QB.

Calbears93's avatar

Exactly. I don’t understand it. Been years without that. Every mediocre program can execute that.

Daddy's avatar

I was a Wilcox fan until now. This program needs grow some balls and just fire him. We done I’m ready for a new coaching staff

Justbear's avatar

I still like Wilcox. But I want a new HC

Bluehenbear's avatar

Wilcox jawing at the ref about timeout. Should be jawing at his OC and OL

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

We’ll, College football season officially sucks just a few days into October. Cal is dead and the PAC 12 looks to have no one in the playoff. So much for the excitement of a normal season if this is Carl’s new normal

GoldenSD81's avatar

And Stanford looks good.

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Ugh - I will completely block out College football on TV for my mental health

BigWinning's avatar

I’m not watching the Oregon game. They’re going to be pissed after today’s loss.

Bluehenbear's avatar

Worst loss of Wilcox era?

TD_24's avatar

37-7 UCLA 2018 was worse especially since I was there

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Worst season - definitely

HelloBowlesHall's avatar

In terms of losing to a bad team, but the football played by the team at the Cheez it bowl tops this easily.

Bluehenbear's avatar

And we throw in the towel with a 3rd and 21 draw

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

And that play should be the nail in the coffin - for this game and for Wilcox

GB III's avatar

A flea flicker! Loss of 9 yards on the play. Outstanding.

OldSoCalBear's avatar

There was a quick shot of Wilcox before the 4th down play. He looked defeated, like he knew there was no way they’d convert.

Cheeks Bossman's avatar

Consistently missing deep passes would be somewhat forgivable if Garbers didn’t throw so many 10 yard passes into the ground

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Feels like the exhaustion and listlessness felt in the last few weeks of the Tedford era. Like pushing on a string.

Bluehenbear's avatar

Thanks for the unlock.

ShanghaiDave93's avatar

Just ugly on all levels
