California is a one-touchdown favorite against Washington State
The California Golden Bears (1-3, 0-1 Pac-12) will look to bounce back against the Washington State Cougars (1-3, 0-2 Pac-12) after suffering a close overtime defeat in Seattle.
And Las Vegas oddsmakers think the Golden Bears will take out their frustrations against the Cougars on Saturday, Oct. 2.
The most recent Cal v. Washington State college football betting odds is California -7 and a 52 and one-half total, as of Sept. 26, according to VegasInsider.com, an aggregator of legal U.S. sportsbook operators’ offered odds.
California is a seven-point favorite, and the total for over-or-under total score bets is 52 and one-half.
Sportsbook oddsmaker may be expecting a shootout at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Calif.
The Cal v. Washington State spread opened shortly after 11 a.m. Pacific on Sunday at the Circa Resort and Casino sportsbook in Las Vegas, according to VegasInsider.com.
But in 15 minutes, Circa had already adjusted the point total from 51 and one-half to 52 and one-half. The most recent line kept California as a one-touchdown favorite against Washington State.
California, which has typically played better in the first half this season, will do well to keep up the momentum at the end of the game against Washington State.
Two weeks ago, the Cougars jumped to a 14-0 lead against the USC Trojans in the second quarter at home in Martin Stadium in Pullman, Wash., before the Trojans put up 45 unanswered points to turn a comeback into a decisive rout.
After four games played, California has averaged 28.8 points per game while Washington State has allowed 29.8.
Cal should win, but those W's are hard to come by.
