SCOTUS rules that States cannot disqualify Trump from election, but Congress can.

The NYT ran an article about Trump Org's ex-CFO Allen Weisselberg would admit to perjury in a plea deal with the Manhattan DA regarding Trump's NY civil fraud case.

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/01/nyregion/weisselberg-perjury-trump-fraud.html

.

Judge Engoron was like "wut? what perjury plea bargain"

https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/fbem/DocumentDisplayServlet?documentId=ZeQ1AzCCMgDOTOISSQllcA==&system=prod

.

Alina Habba - who is also defending Weisselburg in the civil case - responded with a "I know nothing" letter.

https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/fbem/DocumentDisplayServlet?documentId=EHWfuyptwXR1yx3DzkkCPA==&system=prod

.

If Weisselburg does cop a plea, it essentially nullifies all the testimony that Weisselburg gave. It also puts Habba in ethical jeopardy should Judge Engoran pursue that path of disciplining her for using evidence known to be tainted by perjury. Wesselburg wrote tart emails to defense counsel telling them that they should probably shut up about suggesting that he's unethically biased.

Apparently, the Warriors shopped Wiggins. Bulls wanted Kunminga

I imagine that Kuminga looking a lot better over the last month probably changed the calculation.

And also both Wiggins and Kuminga are playing well together after Draymond came back so I think they decided not to just dump his salary. Although it sounds like if Chicago agreed to Caruso for Wiggins that would've been accepted. Though I think I'd rather have Wiggins than Caruso.

Warriors ride Curry’s hot start to complete 4-1 road trip

https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2024/2/8/24066842/warriors-ride-currys-hot-start-to-complete-4-1-road-trip-indiana-pacers

The Golden State Warriors played their fifth road game in seven nights Thursday in Indiana. If the Indiana Pacers expected the Warriors to have tired legs, a 45-point first quarter disabused them of that notion early, and the Dubs cruised to a 131-109 win and an impressive 4-1 road trip.

Steph Curry started red-hot, going 6-for-6 with 18 points in the first quarter, all on threes. He cooled off only slightly in the second, drilling two more triples and finishing the half with 29 points. For the game, Curry finished with 42 points and 11 made threes, and set the tone early.

Steph had 9 points 2 nights ago. Had 9 after 3 shots in the first 3:45 of the game.

Steph's first 6 3s in the 1st quarter. Didn't even hit rim.

TIL: The NFL has a live-in high school in London meant to create a pipeline of football players into the US. Out of the 62 players, five have offers to play at the next level. You'd think they'd set this up in Australia and have a much better hit rate.
