Stupid wordle. That's all

HeyStudentsBears's avatar

i failed for the first time ever ... so did older daughter

heyalumnigo's avatar

I think it's my first failure as well.

heyalumnigo's avatar

yup. Maybe I had one other one. But I've only really been doing it every day for like the last 2-3 weeks. One I discovered Quordle I started doing both.

GB III's avatar

Ok. I will give it a try today. Thanks.

Two failures in the Newellbany house

Sneaky word. Could’ve been any one of 7 options, with only 6 chances. Lame.

Justbear's avatar

I tried 5 different words with just one letter off each time. Stupid

GlueAndBold's avatar

Got it in 5, had to go off-clue to cover the possibilities.

I have a group text - that's for crossword and wordle results. A bunch of my friends have been playing Quordle - which is four wordles at the same time

https://www.quordle.com/#/

I take quordle more seriously than wordle. In terms of wanting to keep a streak intact. I was more disappointed I lost my quordle streak than my wordle.

Trying to figure out how this schitt works.... ;-)

Scootie's avatar

Got it in 6, on the 4th try with the last four letters right.

MoriBear's avatar

Took me 3 tries to get to where I knew what the last 4 letters would be. I got it 4, having luckily (I mean, skillfully) picked the correct first letter. But in our work Puzzle Slack channel, three people failed even tho they had 4 greens starting with Round 2 or 3

Today's selection stretched me. I'm generally good for 4 guesses on average, but took me to 7 today.

First came Wordle, then came Poeltl for NBA, and now it's WARdle for MLB: https://wardle.app/

"Jack, it's 4:30. Don't you want a cocktail?"

It's an hour past Vera and I'm on the front porch with a martini and it feels glorious outside.

Too bad Mrs Slug is at her Mom's.

Terence's avatar

I just usually give when I get the emails.

heyalumnigo's avatar

NOOO!! How can Cheese Board be closed on Pi Day?

Needs investigation.

driving home from VT, listened to the entire Led Zeppelin 4 disc box set. i actually have the CDs still and our Subaru still has a CD player

not a single bad song, and most are amazing

Peetyjay's avatar

CD v. Streaming, do you notice a difference?

Newellbany's avatar

Legitimate candidate for GOAT album

Really really enjoyed 'Turning Red' on Disney + - the new Pixar bundingsroman/coming of age story set in Toronto's Chinese community. It's one of the funnier Pixar movies in a while (after a lot of sentimental ones - Luca, Soul and Onward)

Warriors looked better last night against the Nuggets. Of course the Nuggets were also playing on the 2nd half of a back to back and didn't get in until 4AM so they lost their legs in the 4th. Klay is still struggling but Poole was on fire. Wiggins still can't buy a FT.

HeyStudentsBears's avatar

i only watched the first half where they played ok for some stretches. i figured they would lose and surprised to find out they did not

sycasey's avatar

It was quite a difference to see a game where the other team got tired and fell apart down the stretch. That's been the Warriors for the most part since the All-Star Game.

CruzinBears's avatar

Poole caught fire and everyone else played solid D against a tired team

Newellbany's avatar

This is the time of year where I cram for march madness by watching the conference tournaments and then am shocked when different teams do well in the NCAA tournament.

So by posting it here, I'm really telling myself that matchups matter.

Newellbany's avatar

I'm so incapable of really learning that lesson. Auburn lost today and so I think they're fraudulent and will have them losing by the third round.

Conversely, Iowa has played well in the conference tournament so I'll send 'em deep, in spite of their nine losses.

Half of the last 15 national champions didn't win their conference tournament. Maybe this will be the year that I consider that fact.

heyalumnigo's avatar

As usual, I'll probably have Dook losing in round 2 or 3 and they usually fail to disappoint me.

Newellbany's avatar

I usually do that with Duke, too, and I finally got tired of losing my pool that way so a couple years ago I picked Duke to win it all and of course they went out early.

Oski Disciple's avatar

My favorite part of my most NCAA tourneys is when Duke goes out. The earlier the better.

Jimmy Chitwood's avatar

Fact. Remember when they lost 1st round? It was glorious!!
