my SAT testing journey started in 7th grade when my mom insisted to the middle school that i be allowed to take the SATs to qualify for various honors programs and academic summer schools.
i probably took the SATs about 7-8 times total, but the early years resulted in getting into those academic summer schools (one at Berkeley in 7th and 8th grades) and i ended up being 2.5 yrs ahead of the normal math sequence as a result.
Boon. My GPA wasn't great (at least compared to the average GPA of accepted students), but my SATs definitely helped offset that.
I don't remember if my GREs helped or hurt for grad school, but grad school applications are full of weird idiosyncrasies (like if the lab you're interested in joining had room and funding during that cycle).
Boon. SAT was pretty high, also took the GRE and then GMAT before biz school. Since I didn't go to grad school in the Humanities/Classics the GRE was superfluous.
Tomorrow, high of 82 low of 72 in Lima, Peru. The day after that in Chino, Peru - hot, buggy, and pretty much as you'd expect in the deeeeeeep Amazon Forest during peak rainy season.
back to seasonal temps for this time of year in the 50s after a couple really nice spring like days in the 60s.
i was down in College Park MD last couple days and it was even warmer down there. apparently i missed seeing the cherry blossoms which are out a bit early this year in DC.
Last day before I fly out, so I am Iron Chef'ing with what's left in my fridge. Deviled eggs, leftovers, chicken Caeser salad, sauteed spinach, ratatouille, and a squares of Manchego cheese.

An odd thing about Neon's tenure is the lack of connection to Colorado either by he or the players, sort of like an out of state group of mercenaries, maybe it's a new trend.
Warriors win [checks notes] second game in a row on the road 127-125 over the Mavs. The game was marked by controversy via an uncontested Warriors basket after this series of events, where the ref signals Warriors ball, time-out Mavs
The thing for this is if Dallas thought it was their ball, why didn't they have two players go over to inbounds the ball? It wasn't the 4th so they wouldn't have gotten the ball at half court.
It seems like folks in the comment thread are either not buying it or bummed out. A comfortable old guy hire could be the way the AD goes. Hope not though.

Who else tore their achilles (I think) playing BB last night? Just me?
Going to the orthopedic surgeon to get it checked out this afternoon.
HAG - let me be the first to dumbly comment about your bandaged foot:
"too much kicking ass, amirite?"
Surgery tomorrow morning. Ripped the tendon right off the bone.
<draymond_flex.gif>
I wish. I think I made it about 4 trips down the court.
Good luck on the recovery.
Thanks.
Oof, that sounds unpleasant. Good luck with the recovery
Thanks. Hopefully will go smoothly. It wasn't bad last time.
now HAG and I have the distinct honor of being people that have torn the same Achilles twice!
sadly, it is not fun recovery and just takes a long time.

Standardized testing: was it a boon or bane for your college applications?
generally a boon but not for the obvious reasons
my SAT testing journey started in 7th grade when my mom insisted to the middle school that i be allowed to take the SATs to qualify for various honors programs and academic summer schools.

Minor boon. Frankly, I think the biggest contributor to me getting accepted was that I applied to the Forestry College
Boon. My GPA wasn't great (at least compared to the average GPA of accepted students), but my SATs definitely helped offset that.

Bane. Killed me for both college and law school, tho in hindsight, I should’ve gone the JC route, played ball & then transferred to a 4-yr school…
As long as Knowlton makes a MBB good hire, I’ll be fine…

It was Trump who said he'd be arrested on Tuesday. Since then, idiots have given him nearly $2m. It's grift. It's always about the grift.

W's have 8 games remaining, 5 at home. given recent history you would expect them to go 5-3, w/ the exception that one game at home is vs 76ers.
but it seems that either 5-3 or 4-4 should keep them out of the play-in tournament maybe (?)
