we had some team building Jeopardy event at work today that was all online. pretty nerdy stuff about quantum physics and company trivia.
i knew some stuff but was not fast enough on the buzzer. i was the only person on our winning team to know the Final Jeopardy clue, so that was my major contribution.

My parents never had a station wagon, though we did have a 1970 Chevy Sportsman van. The van had a driver's seat and passenger seat separated by the hood of the engine compartment. Behind that were two bench seats which were bolted down with 1" diameter bolts. These were removed when we needed to haul cargo, like grapes in barrels, firewood, or anything else you might imagine being transported in bulk.
That van was outfitted in January 1975 with an air conditioning unit behind the driver's seat. This was considered critical in preparation for a two-week cross-country trip when we moved from Berkeley to Hunterdon County, New Jersey that started March 22 and ended April 6.
The van also hauled teenagers to and from backpacking trips, and multiple adventures to some historical spot or other tourist attraction.
We had a station wagon that we all fit like cord wood in the back section. My parents later upgraded to a big ass van, that my sister later left the e-brake off of and put into my fraternity's pool.
Knicks beat the 76ers 118-115 and win the series 4-2. Great game 6. Knicks were leading by 8 with about 2 min left and the 76ers came back to down 1 before the Knicks ended up winning.
Avoiding the sweep felt impossible after two cold Spring nights in which the San Francisco Giants’ bats were reduced to sawdust by Boston’s weirdly dominant, nothin’ straight pitching staff led by former coach Andrew Bailey (an “iPad guy” as my buddy Stu in Auburn would say).
“A ski flying competition must be based on a FIS-certified distance measuring system and take place on a ski flying hill homologated by FIS in order to stand up to comparison with other flights and be eligible for an official ski flying record,’ added the FIS.
Having not learned their lesson from Philly's dollar dog night, the Mets hosted a dollar dog night. A guy attempts a 9/9/9 challenge (nine dogs, nine beers in nine innings). He succeeds but gets kicked out for his trouble because other Mets fans threw their dogs at him because.... Mets fans.
BERKELEY – The No. 4 California women's rowing team will face off against No. 2 Stanford in the Big Row Saturday at Redwood Shores in Redwood City. The Bears will send their top four varsity eight boats along with the first varsity four to take on the Cardinal.
As with every Big Row, the Bears will dedicate Saturday's races to Jill Costello, the former Cal coxswain who passed away in 2010 at the age of 22 after a battle with lung cancer. Cal rowers will wear "Team Jill" tank tops in her honor.
BERKELEY – The No. 4 California men's rowing team will face off against No. 12 Stanford in the 89th edition of the Big Row on Saturday at Redwood Shores in Redwood City. The Bears own a 70-19 record in the series and have won nine straight matchups. Last year, Cal swept both the first and second varsity races.
California men's tennis team standouts Carl Emil Overbeck, Alex Chang and Timofey Stepanov were named to the 2024 All-Pac-12 teams, the conference announced Thursday. Overbeck earned a first-team berth, Chang was named to the second team and Stepanov claimed honorable mention.
BERKELEY – Three California men's golfers earned Pac-12 postseason honors Thursday, as voted on by the conference's head coaches. Sampson Zheng was selected to the All-Pac-12 First Team for the second consecutive season while freshmen Ethan Fang – an All-Pac-12 Second Team and All-Freshman Team selection – and Eric Lee – an All-Freshman Team honorable mention – received accolades as well.

Isn’t being an influencer sort of a short term thing you can only do while young? I imagine no be cares to follow the daily travails of like a 50 year old slightly overweight divorcee
the 50+ yr old thing resonated with. i used to think people cared about my FB and Insta posts. i stopped a couple years ago and nothing changed, as one would expect ..
i find that when you have the spotlight of a certain special thing (in this case WBB) it helps you distinguish you from all the other anointed influencers.
Jeopardy!
as a HS kid w/ a just a VCR, we would tape a whole week of Jeopardy! and play 5 in a row w/ a handful of friends, keeping score and everything.
i think HAG mist have been at some of these.

my first car - '75 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser - had a rear facing seat for 2. we stopped using it once we got a little too big to sit back there.
the rear seat area folded down and it was mostly a good secret storage area.
My parents had a 77 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. Didn't have the rear seats but had a cover that had storage where the foldable seats would've gone.
We had a station wagon that we all fit like cord wood in the back section. My parents later upgraded to a big ass van, that my sister later left the e-brake off of and put into my fraternity's pool.

Pacers beat the Bucks 120-98 and win the series 4-2. Bucks are stuck with Doc Rivers for 3 more years for about 12 mil/year.
Knicks beat the 76ers 118-115 and win the series 4-2. Great game 6. Knicks were leading by 8 with about 2 min left and the 76ers came back to down 1 before the Knicks ended up winning.
The Knicks were leading early by as many as 22, i am told. 76ers came back and took lead for a while and were up by 7 or 8 mid 3rd quarter.
Embiid had some foul trouble and had to sit during a critical stretch that allowed Knicks to get the lead back.

“A ski flying competition must be based on a FIS-certified distance measuring system and take place on a ski flying hill homologated by FIS in order to stand up to comparison with other flights and be eligible for an official ski flying record,’ added the FIS.
