The hubris from Intel's past after being dominant for so long is now coming home to roost as their chip designs suck. They have announced they are laying off 15,000 employees - about 12% of the company. Ouch.

Sometimes it amazes me how often it gets shattered.

Back in the early 90s it always was Rory Graves for the Raiders getting called for this. All. The. TIme.

Which reminds me of the Holmoe years when we would get called for a false start coming out of a timeout that we called.

The Amerikans strikes again. Remember the Russian/American prisoner swap news from yesterday. Apparently, it included two deep cover Russian spies and their children. The spies apparently went to Central American, assumed the identities of dead locals - migrated to Argentina to gain citizenship, had two daughters and fabricated a back story, and then moved to Slovenia so that they could spy. From Slovenia, they would spy on other NATO and EU countries and be a mule for deliveries to other sleeper cells. The children had no idea, spoke Spanish, attended private school in Ljubliana, and only learned they were Russian when they were on the plane from Ankara to Russia on the way to meet Vladamir Putin. They daughters were understandably shell shocked that their entire life had been a lie.

Trump accepted $10m bribe from Egyptian coup leaders and Bill Barr shut down the investigation of it.

The Justice Department should prosecute William P. Barr for obstruction of justice.

He's a rat who should be thrown in jail.

And here I thought this was a Washington Post exclusive...

$10M cash withdrawal drove secret probe into whether Trump took money from Egypt

Doesn't seem very exclusive if another outlet has it.

Even Andrew Vaughn can’t save the Sox now. He’s raking in the RBI’s this year, but otherwise his #s are down. Maybe lamenting nobody shopped for him at trade deadline; probably less marketable than he was a couple of years back, when the A’s tried to get him.

Some of y'all are of the specific age to perhaps remember the humor columnist in the Daily Cal named Max Boot in the early 90s. It wasn't his pen name. It was his actual name and he was a self-described conservative. Since his graduation in 1991, he has had pretty successful journalism career focusing on military and non-MAGA conservative foreign policy. As evidence of his non-MAGAness, he once called TFG a "foreign asset".

Well, you may have read a little news blurb about a Korean-American career policy lobbyist named Sue Mi Terry was arrested and indicted on being an unregistered agent for South Korea and the story hook was that she did it for designer goods and fine dining. TIL: That's Max Boot's wife.

I wonder if Mr. Boot will have a job with WaPo in the coming days.

It’s time once again for Oski Disciple’s question of the day.

Does it bother anyone else that cumulous clouds sounds so much like cunnilingus clouds?

SGBear's avatar

It does? [winks, nods, and does two finger guns at OD] allrightallrightallright

Once again Oski Disciple has caused me to think of something I had never even come close to thinking of.
