You can't have a great sandwich without really good bread - also, doesn't it seem weird that people once lived in a world without sandwiches? Boggles the mind.
I've been making Roast Beef sandwiches on Dave's Bread. At Jimmy John's I used to get the #9 Italian Knight Club with sprouts and hot peppers on the wheat bread instead of the sub roll. The Dave's bread reminds me of the wheat bread from Jimmy John's.
Interesting. I setup an appt for my mom for Friday. The Contra Costa website says they have both the Pfizer and the Moderna vaccine. I guess I'll have to ask which one she gets when we get there.
It looks like Contra Costa is starting to vaccinate 65+ adults. The county vaccination program is being done at 3 locations, Martinez and I think San Pablo and Antioch.
A 6'3" outfielder for the SF Giants and a few other club. He was a very good hitter (with good power) but had some issues as a defensive fielder. He also maintained a pretty consistent above. Awesome name. Yesterday was his birthday.
Met him at the 'Stick in the '80's and he was a really nice guy. Charles won a ring with the Yanks in '98 & '99...unfortunately it was with the Yankees.
I remember I had a flight to Asia back in the late 90s. Was sitting in non-smoking. The guy in front of me started smoking and the vent blew the smoke back into my face. I guess I could've been the first row of non-smoking but that sucked. Luckily it was the only cig they had.
I too flew on a lot of those Asia/US flights. There was a smoking section, which didn't really matter because the whole plane would fill up with smoke.
The 2004 (?) Superbowl with Janet and Justin - no one in the stadium realized what had happened with Janet, however, everyone was buzzing because there had been a nude streaker who was laid out by one of the Pats special teams players right before (after?) halftime
The lockdown ramps up a little every day. The Coast Guard had a couple bigger boats on the Potomac and also had a few guys walking the Georgetown waterfront, one with his K-9 partner.
On my way home from the grocery store this evening there were three vans of Customs and Border Patrol agents at the Foggy Bottom Metro station. Are you equally confident CBP can protect a subway station?
Only 48 hours til the inauguration. We'll see if Trump has any other tricks up his sleeve. I read that he is going to pardon up to 100 more folks, but it's pay to play though...
It would not be good for him in the long run to do it. I already saw a story that a small but not insignificant number of Repubs in Iowa have switched their registration or at least dropped being Repub after the riot. If he wants to try for office again it would not be a good move.
I saw something similar happening to republicans in Arizona switching from registered republican to independent. Which makes sense because the Arizona GOP is a shit show right now.
There isn't a picture of the suspect but I'm going to guess she's white...
"An officer ordered Magovern to put the vehicle in park and turn it off. She complied but drove forward after an officer asked for her license.
Officers repeatedly ordered Magovern to stop the vehicle, but she headed north on Columbus Circle, police said. She was stopped nearby, outside Union Station."
Donald was largely ineffective for the 54% of the snaps he did play. Despite having no answer on D, tho, Goff was in rhythm & had the Rams approaching mid-field down 7 in the 4th until an awful drop by Josh Reynolds killed the drive. Rodgers with the backbreaker and Pack move on. Still, despite only trailing by a TD, LAR looked like they should've been down a lot more.
Scoring over 50 points in a half without Bradley is pretty impressive. If we play at a higher tempo and toss up 3's at a record pace we might beat a few people, starting with UCLA this week.
I wouldn't exactly call it a diet, per se. More like a strategy - I lost 25 lbs in the last 16 months by cutting out all snacks, but I eat a normal lunch and dinner, light breakfast.
I think that's my problem. I love snacking. I also probably shouldn't buy donuts every couple of weeks. Ha..and I probably shouldn't have made a batch of White Chocolate and Macadamia cookies around the new year. The boys haven't been helping me out with those.
I should start doing this again. I used to bring in either a caesar salad or spinach salad with a small grilled chicken breast for lunch every day. I also tried to not put on too much dressing. Now that I'm at home I find it easier to just make a sandwich or something like that.
For a few months a couple of years ago I only ate between 10:30-7 every day. I ate whatever the hell I wanted, but the discipline of no mindless eating at home in the evenings was super helpful. I dropped about 15 lbs.

My parents called Kaiser and got their appointment for Wednesday in Antioch
My mom goes to John Muir but they hadn't contacted her yet. So she's going to the county place.
Chile or other homonym
Chili Palmer. I believe he was the character played by John Travolta in Get Shorty.
Chili Davis

Smoking on a plane
I remember I had a flight to Asia back in the late 90s. Was sitting in non-smoking. The guy in front of me started smoking and the vent blew the smoke back into my face. I guess I could've been the first row of non-smoking but that sucked. Luckily it was the only cig they had.

I never smoked but I remember those days.
I do remember all the news reports of people smoking in the lavatories. They'd disconnect the smoke detector and try to smoke there.
Streaker
A very 70's thing.
The 2004 (?) Superbowl with Janet and Justin - no one in the stadium realized what had happened with Janet, however, everyone was buzzing because there had been a nude streaker who was laid out by one of the Pats special teams players right before (after?) halftime
Our democracy . . . on a comeback?
The lockdown ramps up a little every day. The Coast Guard had a couple bigger boats on the Potomac and also had a few guys walking the Georgetown waterfront, one with his K-9 partner.
I feel confident that the Coast Guard can defeat a trump boatilia.
On my way home from the grocery store this evening there were three vans of Customs and Border Patrol agents at the Foggy Bottom Metro station. Are you equally confident CBP can protect a subway station?

And supposedly he isn’t going to pardon himself or family.
I'll believe it when I see it.
I think I read 200K/pardon. So he's making something like 20 million.
I wonder if he will pardon the Capitol terrorist. I think he probably wants to but he won’t.
It would not be good for him in the long run to do it. I already saw a story that a small but not insignificant number of Repubs in Iowa have switched their registration or at least dropped being Repub after the riot. If he wants to try for office again it would not be a good move.

I think he's getting a lot of pressure from advisors not to.

you know, cause she wasn't shot at.
Right, first thing I thought was she must be white because if she were black they would have unloaded 100 bullets into that car.

Goff falls to Aaron. Actually Jared had a decent game statistically but the Rams defense, sans Aaron Donald, was run over by the Packers.
I thought Goff did rather well. Made some good throws. Couldn't tell if his thumb was affecting him or not.
Donald was largely ineffective for the 54% of the snaps he did play. Cal
New commit coming
A bunch of Crystal balls at 247 calling Justyn Martin (4* QB) for Cal.
Go Bears!
Men's Basketball Bears win!
That's something you don't hear everyday
I didn't even realize there was a game until I saw somewhere that the Utes lost to us. I was shocked and had to make sure it really was Cal.
It really was a shocking development. A bumbling, listless 1st half that had 20+ point blowout loss written all over it. Then boom...
The entire Utes squad dropped acid at half, apparently.
It was a solid comeback win, down 15 at half, win by 10, Walton was goofier than usual.
I would've watched just for Walton.
Walton sounded like he partook in some acid as well!

I need to lose about ten pounds.
Recently started lifting weights again, so starting to tone up.
Last couple of weeks I started running again with the warm weather. Going to start being really cold so I imagine I'll stop after today or tomorrow.
I used my stimulus check to buy a rowing machine. On day 4 of workouts...we'll see how that works.
Fat boy on a diet, don't try it
I'll jack yo' ass like a looter in a riot
My shit's fat, like a Sumo, slamming dat ass
Leavin' your face in the grass
I had salad every day for lunch last week. Down 2 pounds!
I should start doing this again. I used to bring in either a caesar salad or spinach salad with a small grilled chicken breast for lunch every day. I also tried to not put on too much dressing. Now that I'm at home I find it easier to just make a sandwich or something like that.
Nice! I need to implement the Gizmo diet from Gremlins - no food after midnight Eastern time...
